Alpine Scout Camp, 10/10-13/03
Planning Weekend, 10/10 - 10/13/ 2003

This year the 3 day planning weekend  was
combined with a regular camping trip. The B
Shelter cabin was used so electricity would
be available for the late night planning
sessions and convenient for quicker and
easier meals. Saturday started quickly with an
early shoot around for all. The archery range
was open all day for anyone who had an
interest in this field sport.
Four of the younger scouts decided to try and
pass the second class cooking requirement.
They were required to cook their lunch on an
outdoor fire that they built. The menu called
for soup, salad, hamburger, corn, cookies
and a cold drink. The meal was prepared
using the foil cooking method, thereby
reducing the amount of clean up. By looking
at the photos, do you think they passed? Look
at the size of the hamburgers!
