| Alpine 12/27-12/29 No school so we got an early start on Friday, 8:30 AM. After a quick grocery stop in Jersey we arrived at the Camp, Julie Y Cabin. A rather long lunch and then some snow fun at dusk. On Saturday a 5 mile hike on the red circle trail. As you can see by the pictures there was quite a bit of snow and the hike was not just hiking, some boys brought along a sled and a small snowboard with them. The ranger claimed 16" of snow had fallen. Even though the distance covered was 5 miles it felt like over eight with the snow on the ground. We were the first and only people on the trail. The balance of the trip was spent on advancements and time in the recreation center. 10 Scouts and three adults attended. |
