Pouch Trip 10/25-27/02
Planned as a typical weekend trip,
it was not for the 11 Scouts and 3
Adult participants. On arrival we
soon learned that this was the
annual Ghoster-ree, primarily a
Cub event. We were also greeted
with torrential rain on Friday night.
Fortunately we got the dining tarps
up as the first rain drops
appeared. Our lean-to's were
situated at the back end of the
camp, thereby, missing most of
the foot traffic generated from the
Ghoster-ree. Saturday was mostly
a requirements day.
Scouts worked on pitching tents,
poisonous plants,fire building, and
various cooking requirements. A new
skill enjoyed by some, Prusicking, an
emergency skill needed for serious
climbers. Sunday was a surprise.
